At our Newark pediatric dental office, you and your child will have an excellent dental experience. We’re currently welcoming new patients and look forward to meeting you both. Of course, we want to ensure you’re prepared for that initial visit first. It’s thus a good idea to review the details provided below. You’ll then learn how we plan to make your visits go well.

Your First Visit

After you first arrive for the appointment, your child will enjoy kid-friendly amenities in our waiting area. (These include toys, coloring books, TV, and other fun activities.)  Once in a treatment room, we’ll ease your little one’s fears by showing the tools we use and how they work. When they’re ready, one of our dental assistants will next clear away plaque and tartar from your child’s teeth. With their smile thoroughly polished, they’ll get digital X-rays for our dentists to review. A board-certified pediatric dentist will then examine your child’s smile and review the images before drafting a treatment plan. (If services like fluoride or dental sealants are necessary, we can administer them before you and your child leave.)

Dental Insurance

At Newpark Mall Family Dental Group, we know that dentistry costs are a concern. Our office grasps that dental care and orthodontic work can be costly for families. Even with rising prices, we work to make oral healthcare accessible and inexpensive. So, we’re pleased to be an insurance-friendly practice in-network with many dental insurance plans. Should you have questions about your policy or want new ways to save with your dental insurance in Newark, please call us.

Understanding How Dental Insurance Works

Dental insurance covers services that are preventive and restorative in nature. If your child’s oral health is poor, the treatment options that minimize their risk and improve their health will be covered in part or in full. By paying monthly premiums, your child’s benefits can be accessed once you meet your deductible. Your dental insurance provider should then pay more for the services your child gets.

What Your Dental Insurance Plan Covers

Our practice will note your dental insurance when you call to book a visit. After reviewing your plan, we’ll identify ways you can save each time you see us. Each plan is different, but many dental benefits are similar and may look like the following:

  • 100% preventive care
  • 80% minor restorative care
  • 50% major restorative care

The most valuable treatments your child can get are preventive services. These are fully covered by most dental insurance companies, and they reduce the odds of your child having decay, cavities, and other such problems. (Said issues would need costly restorative care.)
